WIRE - Magnolia Segrate July 25, 2017

Few days after Red Hot Chili Peppers I saw  WIRE. Completely different location and atmosphere. This is a kind of concert I prefer; few people, possibility to move around and spend some times with friends. The component of the band were at the bar speaking with people before the show.

The show itself was really short (just 70 minutes) but it was enough. Most of the last work "silver/lead" were performed plus some old pieces. The life sound of Wire is different from the studio.More rough and heavy but is definitively the WIRE sound.

WIRE -Wire (2015)

One of most played group on my devices in this period is WIRE. The occasion was the new release "Silver/Lead" (2017) but starting from that I go back and after continuous listening I made the conclusion that "Wire" (2015) is my favourite work of "third age " of this extraordinary and prolific band.
The sound and melodies are unmistakable and catchy.
Like a good wines also Wire don' t care about years.

GITHEAD - Art Pop (2007)

One of this summer night when it was no possible to sleep (because of the high temperature) i was listening to some music I didn' t listen for quite a long time. GITHEAD  was a good surprise. This is a parallel history of Colin Newman with MINIMAL COMPACT members. The  result is a very good sound . Some part seems really to have the best wire sonorities. They provide 3 or 4 works and this is in my opinion the nearest to Wire sound.

WIRE - 154

This is really a milestone in the new wave music history. It is considered a connection between the punk-post punk and the '80 new wave period. What I think is that this album has no time. You can listen to this 30 years after and it seems still new.
I have a vynil copy of this album and is one of my favourite and I consider a precious piece of my collection.
I had the opportunity to see WIRE on stage only one year ago (see post dated  February 2011 on this blog) and despite they are not so young it was an exciting experience.

WIRE -LIVE AT BLOOM 22-2-2011 (more punk than expected)

Finally I saw  them. The WIRE live !!  And it was completely different from what  I expected. More sound, more punk, more ...rough music . Probably it was also because of the ambient. Not a large club, not so many people but a nice atmosphere.
Something different from clear and sophisticated sound of the CD.
But sure it was a great experience!!!!

WIRE - RED BARKED TREE (2011 new album)

Wire are here again (fortunately). It is not the simple remake of old songs. They are alive and in very good conditions. I Know that they will be in Italy next February. It will be a must to see them live!!!!
