RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS - Milano July 21, 2017 (ippodromo S. Siro)

RHCP music remain always a good soundtrack for free time and vacation.  Their original sound is able to move my imagination to a beach party or in a windsurfers contest. The explaination is probably because I remember   RCHP  as soundtrack  of videos and films about windsurf history, Robby Naish, Hawaaian contests  and so on !!!
The concert itself was good, (not superb), not so long (1.40 h). What impressed me was the power of the drum-bass sectionl of RHCP show  and the public. All the time people song together with them and it is visible how the people love them. Really a sound for any age (my daughter also love them).
At the end a nice evening RHCP  leave to me a good memory

DREAM SYNDICATE - Medicine Show 1984

The Dream Syndicate second work " Medicine Show " is dated  1984
The band was the most famous of the "Paisley Underground " movement. Steve Wynn after the Dream Syndicate disbanded in 1989,  continued with a long solo career and many collaborations.

I am waiting to see the Dream Syndicate reunion (a tour was done in 2012) with a new tour  planned this year with also an italian date. May 29th at Bloom at Mezzago (not far from Milan).

THIN WHITE ROPE - Moonhead

Sometimes you realize you lost something important. This was exactly my feeling listening to Thin White Rope music some weeks ago. At that point the question comes alone ... how  was  it possible ? Why  have you never condidered this band? The answer is that probably during  that period the scene was full of good music, good bands and it happened that you lost some of them.
Anyway we are lucky, good music has no time and I (or we) can give the right importance to this band now. Their music was really a mix of rock, blues, country, punk and wathever you want. Guy Kyser' s  voice appairs to me like a "polite" version of  Jeffrey Lee Pierce disturbing voice. You can accost Thin White Rope music to several others like Dream Syndicate, Television, Neil Young (?)  but at the end probably it make no sense. We can consider as a stand alone event in the californian (or world) music scenery of late '80.

STAN RIDGWAY - Neon Mirage

New work from Stan Ridgway. The heart of  the "unforgettable" Wall of Voodoo is still live.
It was since a long time  I had not listened  to Stan Ridgway or Wall of Voodoo sound. In these days I had to opportunity  to know the  new work of Stan and I was curious to go back in the past and this Is my conclusions:
Wall Of Voodoo in the 80's and the first two solo album of Stan are another thing but I listen with pleasure to the actual (Neon Mirage and probably the better  "Anatomy" of some year ago) music of Stan Ridgway. There is no more the energy of the 80's but is still available the class of a big artist. Unfortunatly I miss the last year tour in Italy so I hope to have the possibility to see him in the future. in the meantime we can listen to his "ballads" and new western waiting for the next .......

GUN CLUB - Death Party

Jeffrey Lee Pierce was one of the icons of the "loner and damned artist". All the Gun Club works (and this in a special way) are a mix  of desperation, rage and resignation. Jeffrey voice and his "wrong" way of singing seem perfect to directly transmit this feeling to the audience.
They never had an extraordinary success but  they deserve a position in the rock history.
Death Party EP (5 songs) is from 1983  and it is  my favourite one. It include  "the house on highland avenue" an unforgettable beautiful damned ballad.

V,A, BE A CAVEMAN (Voxx Garage revival)

This is a Good compilation of revival '60/garage. Some tracks previous released on vynil (from '79 to '90), There are famous groups like  Plan 9, Fuzztones, Gravedigger V etc.
Voxx project (2000) give a real picture of the ' 80  garage/california sound of the period.

SAVAGE REPUBLIC

From L.A. area a cult band. I thought not existing since long time but I realize still in activity. A new CD (1938) is dated 2007. Attached  some link with complete information (and video). The first one is in italian an give a complete history of the band.  Listening to "1938" it is not possible to think to first Pink Floyd period !!!! and another milestone is "Ivory Cost" (Tragic Figures 1982) soundtrack of one of my favourite radio station at that time.
